Launch a business during your co-op term
If you are currently enrolled in a co-op degree or diploma program at Conestoga, you are eligible to apply for co-op in the Conestoga Entrepreneurship Collective. These programs offer the opportunity to dedicate your work term to the development of a new business.
Venture co-op
Students with entrepreneurial aspirations can work on their new venture full-time during a 15-week, unpaid work term.
This unique opportunity includes working one-on-one with an experienced venture coach while researching the market for your venture, developing a prototype and formulating a go-to-market plan. You will also learn how to pitch your idea and connect with other entrepreneurs, local business owners, subject matter experts, and industry mentors.
Limited number of spaces available every term. Students who successfully complete a venture co-op term are eligible to apply for an additional term in the core Venture Lab.
Gig co-op
Students with aspirations to be a full or part-time professional freelancer can apply for a 15-week unpaid work term.
Get a head start on your plans to develop the foundation for a sustainable freelance business. Working one-on-one with a seasoned gig coach, you will determine your positioning in the market, define your customer, develop a sales and marketing plan, set up the mechanics of your company, and learn how to successfully sell your services. There will be many opportunities to network with other freelance entrepreneurs and business owners to start building your network and client base.
